Technical specifications
Key selection, installation and performance details for the Electrolux Professional DC7-4HP Heat Pump Drying Cabinet.
Choosing the right machine
Is the Electrolux Professional DC7-4HP Heat Pump Drying Cabinet the right model for me?
The DC7-4HP is designed for wet garments, footwear and textiles that should be dried without tumbling.
Its heat pump system offers low-temperature drying without an external exhaust duct, but the available hanging space, electrical supply and condensate arrangements must suit your site.
What should I check before purchasing this machine?
This model is most useful where garments must retain their shape or cannot withstand the mechanical action of a tumble dryer.
Before purchasing this machine, it is worth checking:
- Garment type: confirm that hanging drying is appropriate for the clothing, footwear or equipment being processed.
- Load size: the rated load is 4 kg, with 16 metres of hanging length.
- Available space: allow for the cabinet dimensions, door opening and safe access for loading and maintenance.
- Electrical supply: provide a suitable 230v 1-phase supply protected at 10A.
- Condensate handling: decide whether to use the removable water tank or connect the hose to a drain.
- Throughput: confirm that the drying time and cabinet capacity match the daily laundry volume.

Services, drainage and cycle times
The DC7-4HP requires a 230v 1-phase electrical supply. Its closed heat pump system does not require an external exhaust-air connection.
Condensed water can collect in the 2.4-litre removable tank or discharge through the supplied 1.5-metre hose. The reference 69-minute drying time is based on a 4 kg cotton load with 50% initial moisture dried to 0%.
- Electrical protection: Electrolux recommends a 10A fuse.
- Condensate outlet: the cabinet has a Ø10 mm connection and pumped discharge.
- Drain position: the condensate pump provides up to 0.5 metres of pressure height.
- Actual drying time: this varies with fabric type, load, retained moisture, programme and selected dryness.
- Room ventilation: account for the cabinet’s heat emission together with other heat-producing equipment.
Replacing an older model?
The DC7-4HP may suit the replacement of an existing single-width drying cabinet where its capacity and heat pump drying performance meet the site’s requirements.
Before replacing the existing cabinet, compare:
- Overall dimensions: 1930 H × 595 W × 665 D mm.
- Rated capacity: 4 kg with 16 metres of hanging space.
- Electrical supply: 230v 1-phase with 10A protection.
- Condensate arrangement: removable tank or connection to a suitable drain.
- Door access: check the opening direction and whether the optional rehanging kit is required.
A site assessment is recommended because electrical connections, clearances, drainage and room ventilation may differ from those required by the former cabinet.
Compliance, hygiene and environment
The cabinet is produced within ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 manufacturing systems and carries IPX4D protection. It uses R290 natural refrigerant with a stated global warming potential of 0.02.
A drying cabinet does not itself validate a hygiene process. Results depend on suitable laundering, correct garment handling, programme selection, cleaning procedures and appropriate separation of clean and soiled items.
- Garment instructions: always follow the textile manufacturer’s care and temperature guidance.
- Loading: arrange garments so that air can circulate freely around each item.
- Cleaning: follow the operating instructions for routine filter and cabinet care.
- Refrigerant servicing: heat pump work must be undertaken by appropriately qualified personnel.
- Site procedures: maintain suitable handling and separation practices where hygiene is important.
